Outdoor Life
The botanical mountain surrounding with its pristine rivers and waterfalls beckons those who enjoy the outdoors. Within a short distance of Cullasaja Club are opportunities to go horseback riding in the Blue Ridge Mountains, whitewater rafting on the rapids of the Chattooga, Nantahala and Ocoee Rivers, hike or climb the historic Whiteside Mountain in the Nantahala National Forest, explore Ravenel Lake via kayak or canoe or go zip lining in Scaly Mountain.
Our Members love hiking the groomed trails inside the community, and endless trails of the Highlands plateau where the giant hemlocks, poplars and oaks, some 350 years old, bring back, just for a time, the sense of being in a place where the only footprints are those of bears, foxes, bobcats and darting squirrels. Cullasaja Club’s staff leads Members on adventures from road biking the Blue Ridge Parkway to hiking the Appalachian, Bartram or Foothills trails and they help organize trips for white water rafting, and zip lining in the mountains.
